Very central hotel for exploring the city!

The location of this hotel is fantastic. We were only ever a 5-10 minute walk from any attraction we wanted to see so for that this hotel gets a thumbs up from me. We booked a family room for 2 nights. We were able to check in around 1pm which was a lot better than 3pm as stated on the booking. I felt the staff could have been more friendly. I didn't get a personal touch like you do at some hotels. I felt that from the reception staff and the restaurant/bar staff. I'm not complaining about it but I'm just making an observation on how I felt my experience was. The room was on the small side with a double bed and a fold out sofa bed. The fold out bed was very small and uncomfortable according to my kids. The large double bed was comfortable so my husband and I didn't have any complaints. The cleanliness of the room was okay. The bedsheets, towels, bathroom and toilet were all clean. The carpet in the bedroom needed a good wash. I didn't like standing on the carpet in my bare feet. The hotel needs a good refurbishment as some areas look warn and old. We paid for breakfast on one of the mornings. It was GBP18.00 per adult and children go free. The breakfast was nice and I enjoyed it but I've had better in other hotels. There is a pool in this hotel which my kids loved and I enjoyed the pool and sauna. There is a pool table at the hotel bar and my little lad loved playing pool so that kept him happy. Overall, I had a fairly enjoyable experience at the Novotel Liverpool and I would return purly for the location.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 817, supposed to be a 4 stars hotel. That was a joke. One of the bath towels had several holes, the front top corner of the sofa arm had a hole with sharp metal protruding out, nett curtin was dirty. The room was very worm with window open & air con set to minimum.

Had a fantastic 2 night stay in family room this weekend. From entry until leaving, we were welcomed, professionally and very warm from all staff! 2 adults and 1 child, more than enough space, very clean and well appointed room. Swim pool a bonus! Breakfast amazing and very good time slots and defo for the price. The bar area canny, although we only had 1 drink in there at the end of the night. The hotel is very well located and a couple of mins from main centre/attractions. We used Q park car parking next door, pre booked £30 for whole weekend but note £24 per 24hrs if you don't pre book! It's very secure/code protected. Thank you Liverpool!

Very disappointing and certainly not to the standard of any Accor Group hotel in have stayed in. First impression is it’s really tired and needs a complete refurbishment. The restaurant/ bar is dark and uninviting. The furniture was in shocking state. Service at the bar was poor as I don’t appreciate being ignored.Perhaps management would learn from the breakfast staff who were excellent. Mould on the bath tiles is completely unacceptable. Room was about Travelodge standard, or less? Lots of street noise.

Not a 4 star hotel . We had a party booking for 20 for 4 nights through Tailor Travel. The door entry card system was faulty so we had to make repeated visits to reception to get the cards activated.. Staff did apologise. Our first night included buffet dinner- the food was warm and not enough for the two groups who had booked in. The drinks were expensive and we had no waiter service so had to order from the bar. Breakfast food was a little better buffet service but no plate warmer switched on except one morning. A convenient location near the city centre but not one to recommend.
